Bill Hodgeman is a native New Englander and has served in churches in New Hampshire, Maine and Massachusetts. He’s a graduate of Azusa Pacific University (Communication, Bible) and Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary (Masters of Divinity). Bill loves sports, reading, cooking, gardening and spending time with his family—but his greatest passion is to see lives changed by the transforming love of Jesus. Bill serves as the Senior Pastor – concentrating on preaching, vision, leadership development and helping College Church to fulfill its mission to love God, love others and make disciples. Bill and his wife Beth have two children, Brennan & Evie.

Fran came to College Church in November 1972 and became a follower of Christ on March 3,1973.  Fran is at the center of the communication hub at College Church and works hard to keep information flowing, and people connected and supported.  Fran brings energy and passion to her work every day, and tries her best to keep the pastors in line!  Fran and her husband Tom live in Easthampton.  They have 3 children and 6 grandchildren.

Deana grew up in New Hampshire and moved to the Pioneer Valley in 2017 to serve with her husband​ on staff  with the Navigators at UMass Amherst. They live in Shutesbury and have four children – Marie, Cheri, Luc, and Micah. Deana is passionate about teaching children to know the great love God has for them, and that walking with Jesus is not just for adults. Her desire is to see the church embrace its children and find creative ways to help families teach their children to love God and love others.

Nathan is originally from NYC, and recently moved from Seattle WA to Northampton so that his wife, Sarah could pursue an MFA in Dance at Smith College. Nathan is passionate about music, sailing, and whole-hearted worship. He feels called to lead worship and grow as a shepherd of God’s people. Nathan and Sarah welcomed their daughter in 2017.  Nathan is a lover of coffee, Italian food, good bread and anything with cheese. Even though he lives in the Valley and enjoys playing his acoustic guitar, he does not consider himself a hipster.

Melanie and her husband Tim live in the Hilltowns of Hampshire County with their three sons, Cody, Caelan and TJ.  They have been attending College Church since 2003. Melanie has served on the Women’s Ministry and Worship Arts Teams at College Church.  She is passionate about helping the church connect with the wider community, and helping women grow in their relationship with God and one another.  Melanie also works as a Problem Solver with NEEDinc, a cross-cultural communications- ministry based in Amherst, MA.  Melanie and her husband love many outdoor activities, and enjoy teaching scouting skills to their local Boy Scout Troop in Chesterfield, as well as the adults in their local scout council. You will often find them on the trail, climbing mountain peaks in the New England area or working in the garden.  Melanie came on staff in February 2016.

Facilities

After 12 years in China, Doug and Elaine returned home in 2012. They have been active members of College Church ever since.  In addition to serving as custodians since 2015, Doug and Elaine lead Monday Night Missions Prayer gatherings and serve on the Missions Committee.  Doug and Elaine share a passion for helping others grow in their relationship with Jesus, and connecting the local church to the worldwide work of God.

Dr. Don Lundgren
Missions Pastor Emeritus

Dr. Don has served as the Missions Pastor at College Church since 1985. A medical doctor, ordained pastor and musician, Dr. Don’s passion is to see the church empowered by the Holy Spirit to “go and make disciples of all nations.”  Over the years, Dr. Don has served the church in remarkable ways.  He launched and directed the College Church Healthcare Project which provided free health care to those in need.  He co-leads the Pioneer Valley Pastor’s Prayer Group – a regional network of pastors and Christian workers spanning from Vermont to Connecticut.  He organizes and leads Monday Night Missions Prayer: a regional prayer gathering that has met weekly since 1988.  Dr. Don has helped to send out over 200 cross cultural workers within the US and around the world.  He himself has traveled to nearly 100 countries to build relationships, provide medical care and share the love of Christ.  Dr. Don has helped inspire generations of Christians to use their gifts in service to the gospel—across the street and around the world.  He and his wife Lissa live in Amherst.
