Woven ConferenceWritten by Melanie Lamere on Feb 07, 2018 in - No Comments
God’s intention for His creation is Shalom. Shalom is a Hebrew word that describes “the webbing together of God, humans, and all creation in equity, fulfillment, and delight” (Neil Plantinga). Shalom is like a fabric: where many threads are woven over, under, around and through every other one. “The more interdependent they are, the more beautiful they are. The more interwoven they are, the stronger and warmer they are. God made the world with billions of entities… [and] He made them to be in a beautiful, harmonious, knitted, webbed, interdependent relationship with each other.”
The Woven Conference will help us to explore our calling to be part of the fabric of our community; to seek our neighbors’ good, and to help them flourish—no matter who they are or what they believe. We believe that God has called us to not just build a great church, but to help build a great city, for all people.
Pastor Chris Bannon and other leaders from Church of the Commons– a church plant in Rochester, NH that has been cultivating the value of “wovenness” since day one. We look forward to learning from and being inspired by their story and example!
