refugee, syria, northampton, MA, pioneer valley, war, missions, conference, college churchThis Sunday is our 3rd in a series of events informing minds and shaping hearts about the global refugee crisis in our day. Last December, Pastor Bill opened the Scriptures to God’s heart for the refugee. Our August Refugee Sunday focused on the global refugee crisis and included World Vision’s virtual reality stations. Join us as we turn our focus to welcoming refugees – the foreigners in our midst.

“For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the Great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes. He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner, giving him food and clothing. For you are to love those who are foreigners, for you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt.” Deuteronomy 10:17-19

“When a foreigner resides with you in your land, you shall not do him wrong. You shall treat the foreigner who resides with you as the native among you, and you shall love him as yourself.” Leviticus 19:33-34a

We’ll hear from and interact with:

A former Sudanese refugee now ministering back in South Sudan,

One local Christian family’s commitment to embrace refugee families and internationals,

Catholic Charities’ very local Refugee Resettlement opportunity,

The head of Ascentria Care Alliance’s Services for New Americans, himself an Iraqi former refugee,

Two local believers serving international students,

And various College Church supported servants eager to connect with you!
