Seeking a full time Associate Pastor.
Who we are
College Church (Northampton, MA) is an interdenominational church in Western Massachusetts with approximately 400 regular attenders. We strive to reflect God's love and desire others to experience a relationship with Jesus Christ. Under the leadership of our Lead Pastor of two years, and with the introduction of a five-year vision, we are committed to building a well shepherded and equipped community of mature believers. We are also committed to the Great Commission, both locally and globally.
What we seek in an Associate Pastor
We seek a man who is passionate not only in regard to his own relationship with Jesus Christ, but who is also devoted to mentoring others in the faith. An underlying grace focus should shape this man's interactions with others.The ideal candidate will be well grounded in Scripture, theologically astute, and a self-motivated leader with a talent for oversight and development of discipleship, shepherding and worship ministries.
Educational and Experience Requirements
We expect the candidate to have an MDiv or comparable advanced degree with at least five years' ministry experience preferred.
Expanded Description
Working in conjunction with our Lead Pastor and in accordance with College Church's five-year vision plan, our Associate Pastor will have three primary areas of responsibility:
- Discipleship:
- Encourage the incorporation of new and established members into the fellowship and ministry of College Church according to interest and abilities.
- Shepherding:
- Oversee all elements of pastoral care to membership and regular attenders and support gifted laity to function as pastoral caregivers.
- Worship:
- Enrich corporate worship, including the ability to oversee various worship forms. Possessing musical talent would be a plus.
Additional pastoral duties may include weddings, funerals, baptisms, counseling and occasional preaching.
